Wroclaw is the city in the Republic of Poland, historical capital of Silesia. It is one of the largest (forth by population size) and oldest Polish cities, capital of Lower Silesian voivodship. The area of the city is 293 km². Wroclaw is situated on five rivers (Odra and its 4 tributaries).
Poznan is the city in the central part of Western Poland, on the Warta river, administrative center of the Greater Poland voivodship, large business, industrial and educational center of Poland. Its population is 607.5 thousand inhabitants (2005). The area of the city is 265 km².
