Peter Lansley, sports columnist of the authoritative English publication «The Times» is impressed by the enthusiasm of Ukrainians working on the Euro-2012 project. The journalist told the Information Centre Ukraine-2012 in an interview on the results of a press tour, which was recently held for members of the British media.
"I really like the attitude in people towards preparations for the tournament - how they work enthusiastically on this project, building stadiums, airports, roads and hotels. Through this they show an unseen will to complete all the projects on time and prepare for the Euro as best as possible", Lansley said.
He also agreed that the Euro-2012 will have a significant effect on the positive image of Ukraine in the world. "It is logical that Ukraine staging the championship will be a big step for the country towards European integration", «The Times» columnist noted.
In addition, Peter Lansley stated he was impressed by the beauty of Ukraine – here there are monuments of architecture, art, nature and spiritual things.
"I advise English fans to definitely visit the Fan Zone on Independence Square in Kyiv, see the Kyiv Sophia, Golden Gate, and go to a cafe or restaurant. As to Donetsk, I can say that the museum at the Shakhtar club is the best I have ever been to", the journalist summed up.
He also added that the two stadiums which he saw with his own eyes – the Olympic NSC and Donbas Arena - are fantastic.
"I am convinced that they will successfully hold Euro-2012. There is an incredible atmosphere there. I think fans will love them", said the master of the quill.
