The Euro-2012 tournament will take place in Ukraine and in Poland in an unchanged format. This was announced on 30 April in Nyon by the Director of UEFA Euro-2012 in Ukraine, Markiyan Lubkivskyi, after a meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee in the European football building.

Borys Kolesnikov: UEFA has confidence in Ukraine

"Yes, there are certain appeals by European politicians appeal to UEFA, there are statements appearing in the media, but the official position of UEFA, which was released today after the last meeting of the Executive Committee before the tournament is more than comprehensive and clear. Moreover, during today's meeting the issue of moving the tournament was not even considered theoretically. It is impossible from a technical or from any other point of view," Mr Lubkivskyi stressed.

However, he said that despite some interpretations of this information in the mass media, UEFA Events S.A. Operations Director Martin Kallen has never made any statements on reformatting the tournament.
